New 2022 Toyota Proace USA Redesign – Toyota will probably update the Proace van for 2022, making subtle changes to that vehicle and its derivatives carrying Verso passengers. Both vehicles get additional kits with comfort and increased security for panel vans and more equipment throughout the Proace Verso MPV range.
For those looking at the panel van, though, the biggest change is arguably the addition of the Smart Cargo system to the entry-level Active model, making it standard throughout the line-up.

Basically consisting of a hatch on the bulkhead behind the seat and a folding front passenger seat, this allows longer items to be loaded into the van, extending the maximum load length by 1,162 mm. It also increases the overall load volume of the vehicle by 50 cubic centimeters.
As part of the Smart Cargo upgrade, the Active model will also get armrests for drivers and passengers, adjustable lumbar support in the driver’s seat, and a folding backrest section in the middle passenger seat that can serve as a handy desktop when working on the move.

The ingenious Smart Cargo system has now been set as standard across the Proace range. It combines load-through opening in the front bulkhead and lifts/folding function on the front passenger seat, which extends the maximum load length by 1.16 meters and the overall load volume by an additional half a cubic meter.
The system also introduces armrests for drivers and passengers, adjustable wooden support for the driver’s seat, and a folding backrest section in the passenger seat that can serve as a handy desktop when working on the move.
The upgrade also sees entry-level Active models get manual air conditioning and alarms as standard, meaning those features are now included in every mid-size van version.
These features join a kit list that includes left and right side sliding doors and side-hinged rear double doors that open up to 180 degrees. Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, and 16-inch steel wheels are also on the list.
In addition to these changes, however, Proace’s line-up has not changed, with active models joining the icon and design models higher in the hierarchy. The van is also available in Compact, Medium, and Long lengths, providing up to 5.1, 5.8, and 6.1 cubic meters of load space, respectively.

The addition of satellite navigation to the nine-seat Proace Verso Shuttle 2022 specification makes this functionality a standard feature on all versions of our large-person carriers. The new eight-seat Family class model comes with rear parking sensors.
2022 Toyota Proace Models
Proace Combi has its own and dedicated specifications. For the 2022 model year, Combi benefits from air conditioning and new dark grey seat trim as standard. The Combi model can accommodate up to nine people, although the high-spec seven-seat VIP remains at the top of the range.
The Proace passenger carrier version, dubbed Proace Verso, has also received some new features, with technology from more luxurious models filtered to less luxurious versions.
The Basic Shuttle model, which is equipped with air conditioning, automatic headlights, and automatic wipers, will soon get satellite navigation as standard, while the mid-range Family model also gets additional equipment.
The eight-seat MPV will get rear parking sensors as part of the 2022 upgrade, while the Proace Combi – seating up to nine – will get air conditioning and new dark grey seat trim as standard. However, the high-spec seven-seat VIP model remains unchanged at the top of the Proace Verso range.
