2022 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road
2022 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road – The Toyota RAV4 is consistently one of the best-selling vehicles on the market, and if you’re looking for a compact SUV, chances are the RAV4 is on the shortlist.
The RAV4 is a good choice if you want space for five people and luggage, but it rarely stirs up any emotions. The 2022 redesign features a formidable exterior style and an interior that is significantly more luxurious than its predecessor. This is a RAV4 with attitude.
2022 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road
The fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 comes in 2019 with a bold and sturdy look. This design has remained the same ever since, and we hope it will remain a built-in model when the Toyota RAV4 2022 comes into the showroom.
Most of the RAV4 variants are compatible with competitors. You have a wallet-friendly model, a top-trim version loaded with stuff, and some of them. There’s also the Adventure RAV4 with a tougher exterior style and hill drop control, as well as the Off-Road TRD, which adds all-terrain tires and special suspension adjustments. This trim doesn’t turn the RAV4 into a mini-Wrangler, but it helps the RAV4 offer more capabilities than any other soft-roader.
The fifth-generation RAV4 is roughly half of its life cycle, so Toyota might treat the 2022 model to an exterior refresh. Even so, we expect the core powertrain lineup and features to remain the same as last year. Buyers who are now looking for the famous compact SUV should take a look at the 2021 Toyota RAV4.
The fifth-generation RAV4 ushers in a new era for this compact crossover. It dropped a softer design than in previous years and adopted a bold new look that added an upright stance, a flat nose, a sharp truck-like grille, widened wheel wheels, sturdy body cladding, a sharp body line, and more. It looks and feels like a legitimate off-road crossover, especially on its Off-Road TRD trim. In addition, we expect the RAV4 2022 to continue to perform with the same look.
2022 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road Interior
Inside, the toughness of the fifth-generation RAV4 continues with its sharp dashboard that includes many hard lines and cuts, a large HVAC knob, a box-shaped steering wheel center, a greased shifter, and more. On some trim levels, it also gets bold contrast accents. The RAV4 is also nothing short of a cube for storing items, including one under the passenger-side dashboard.
The RAV4 is currently equipped with standard fabric upholstery, 17-inch wheels, separate folding rear seats, a 7-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These features will most likely remain the same in the 2022 RAV4.
Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road Interior Engine
The RAV4 has a single engine option, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit with 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. This power flows through an eight-speed automatic transmission and out onto the front wheels as standard.
There are two optional all-wheel-drive systems as well. On LE and XLE trims, all-wheel-drive optionally moves power forwards and rears as needed. On Off-Road, Limited, and Adventure TRD trims, the more advanced torque vector all-wheel-drive system shifts power from front to back and from side to side for optimum traction. We expect this powertrain option to remain the same in the RAV4 2022.
Toyota RAV4 Safety
All current Toyota RAV4 models include automatic emergency braking, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Buyers can also add optional blind-spot monitors. IIHS rates the current RAV4 as a Top Safety Pick, but this only applies to its Hybrid Limited trim, which is the only model with a “Good” tiered LED projector headlight required.
All standard RAV4 headlights are rated “Marginal”, making it out of the Top Safety Pick competition. However, in all crash tests, the RAV4 has a “Good” rating. We expect these ratings and features to remain the same at rav4 2022.
The Toyota RAV4 is one of the better compact SUVs out there, and a pair of trims enhance its off-road capabilities. Even if you’re stuck on the pavement, the RAV4 impresses with its practical cabin and comfortable ride.
2022 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road Release Date and Price
The Toyota RAV4 2022 does not have an official release date, but we expect a summer 2021 sales date based on the previous release schedule.
Rav4 2022 prices are also not available. In the absence of major changes in workmanship, we expect its MSRP to remain close to the current model at a price of $27,225 to $37,155 (including destination costs).
