2023 Toyota Sequoia – Despite the facelift in 2017, it’s still nothing near as fresh as its main rival. we hope Sequoia will come up with a fresh style for the 2023 model year.

A New Toyota Sequoia is in the works. Back in February, we saw future Toyota info from a reliable inside man who pegged 2022 as the coming year for the next generation SUV for the 2023 model. To Toyota’s credit, sequoia’s new look is a closely guarded secret.

Without prototypes or even donkey tests to work, this rendering is based on current models with an eye toward popular automotive design trends. As such, the theme here is evolutionary-versus-revolutionary, with Sequoia still easily recognizable in its new skin.

Toyota Sequoia Features

Thinner headlights with vertically oriented drive lights certainly feature a trendy design, and they help give sequoia interpretations of this clean and chiseled face. The grille does not seem to grow in size, but the grille is slightly more prominent.

Now, this is in no way a reflection of the style changes Toyota has planned. But we like them. Like most slow-selling body-on-frame SUVs (think Nissan Armada), it feels more like a facelift than a new vehicle. New headlights and taillights have clearly been installed, while bumpers have more character.

As a full-size 3-line vehicle, the Sequoia has to compete with the Chevy Suburban. However, its relationship with the SUV was similar to that between the Silverado truck and the Tundra. You soon realize that Toyota uses a V8 powertrain that is reliable enough to reach a million miles but less in the department mile per gallon.

If you take money out of the equation, Sequoia TRD Pro 2020 is amazing. There are cool army green paint and an all-black trim package and under the hood is a 5.7-liter V8 with 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. The exhaust sound should be one of the best in the class, but is that combo worth $65,000?

To be honest, this is a very lucrative part of the SUV market, where people spend a lot of money on headrest embroidery and black badges. Toyota will love the new Sequoia but may need to start with a pickup and work from there.

In the profile, we see the influence of RAV4. The angular body line above the front fenders reflects the wheel arches on smaller SUVs, although the actual Sequoia aperture remains round.

A little up-kink in the beltline and body line at the back door is another modern design theme, as is the RAV4-style floating roof element on pillar D. At the back, this next-generation Sequoia also takes a page from the RAV4 with a similar lower bumper and thin and edgy taillights.

Cheap-looking plastic and gaudy controls continue to date the Sequoia cabin. Large knobs and flashy buttons undeniably work, though. However, the SUV mainly doesn’t have modern features — such as a heated steering wheel, head-up display, and massaging front seats — available in most rivals.

People who want a durable interior without excessive choice will appreciate Sequoia. Most others won’t. Fortunately, passenger space abounds, with comfortable legroom on all three lines. And the third row will accommodate people of considerable adult size.

The sequoia matches the healthy amount of carry-on baggage behind the third row and with the rear seats stored. This is noteworthy because Toyota does not have an expanded version for increased cargo capacity as the Ford Expedition does. It also has enough cubby interior storage for moonlight as a travel page sale.

Sequoia line ships with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Toyota finally brought apple carplay and Android Auto capabilities to the table and made both smartphone-friendly features standard. Sequoia also has a Wi-Fi hotspot, which requires a subscription after the initial trial period. A rear-seat entertainment system is also available, as is the improved JBL audio system.

Toyota Sequoia Safety

This generation of Sequoia hasn’t been tested for collisions. However, Toyota fills each model with a bunch of standard driver safety and assistance technologies.

Although its competitors offer most of the same equipment, these features are mostly optional. This can help justify the price of the Toyota sticker in question, but only for those who want the driver’s help in the first place. Key security features include:

  • Standard automatic emergency braking;
  • Standard line departure warning;
  • Standard adaptive cruise control.

2023 Toyota Sequoia Price

Compared to most of his classmates, Sequoia has one of the highest starting prices. Although its wildest trim level is below $70,000, that kind of money could also make you the best Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon. We will maximize sequoia value while still using a complete base SR5 model. loaded with standard driver assists, many of which cost extra on the competition.

The SR5 model sits eight seats with a standard second-row bench seat; Seven-seat sequoias are available with the captain’s seat. It adds a four-wheel-drive cost of $3255 on the SR5 but provides four seasons of safety for those who need it.

The Premium plan is the only important option on this model, but we don’t think the content is worth the big price. Too bad it’s the only way to get an SR5 with leather interiors, premium audio systems, and heated front seats.
