Powertrain and Performance

The Trailhunter is propelled by a hybrid i-FORCE MAX drivetrain with a 2.4L turbocharged engine and a 48-hp/184-lb-ft electric motor.

This results in an astounding 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, making it the most potent Tacoma model.

The maximum towing capacity is 6,000 pounds, while the maximum payload is 1,710. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic.

Suspension and Off-Road Capabilities

The Trailhunter’s suspension incorporates Old Man Emu (OME) position-sensitive 2.5-inch forged monotube shocks with rear external piggyback remote reservoirs co-developed with Australian-based ARB.

This exclusive OME suspension by ARB is optimized for off-road control and cargo capacity, making it ideal for all overlanding equipment.

The front and rear of the Trailhunter are raised by two and one-half inches, respectively, thanks to bronze-colored, forged aluminum upper control arms.

Additionally, the Trailhunter includes:

  • An electronic rear locking differential.
  • A front stabilizer bar disconnect for enhanced front-wheel articulation.
  • Auxiliary DC toggle upfitter controls on the dashboard.

In addition, a 2400-watt AC inverter is included for use during off-grid excursions.

Exterior Features

The 2025 Tacoma Trailhunter exterior features a bronze grille with vintage “TOYOTA” lettering, an integrated 20-inch LED light bar, and Rigid white/amber LED fog lamps.

The truck is also equipped with frame-mounted rock rails for protection against body damage, hot-stamped steel skid plates to shield the front end, transmission, and rear differential, and a high-clearance exhaust tip to prevent system damage.

Interior Features

Inside the Trailhunter is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a large 14.0-inch multimedia display, a head-up display, and front seats that are heated and chilled.

The Tacoma lineup comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0, ensuring a safe and secure driving experience.

The Trailhunter also includes a JBL FLEX portable Bluetooth speaker that attaches to the dashboard but can be removed for entertainment at the campsite.

Customization Options

Toyota’s Associated Accessory Products (AAP) program enables consumers to customize their Trailhunter with various overlanding, camping, and adventure accessories from participating dealerships.

These products and accessories can be financed and added directly to the monthly payment, making constructing the ideal overlanding outfit simple.
