2022 Toyota Sequoia Platinum Spy Photos, Price – The Toyota Sequoia 2022 is a full-size SUV that has been sold since 2008. Unlike other big Toyota SUVs, the Highlander, Sequoia rides on a truck-based platform, share a lot with the Tundra full-size pickup.
That truck platform, along with the Sequoia 381-Horsepower 5.7-liter V8, delivers it’s respectable and tow-payload rankings, though it is expected to pay significantly more than the Highlander in the pump considering that fuel economy is the V8’s poor.

We didn’t expect any major changes beyond the new limited edition nightshade package. Nightshade Package-also available in Corolla and hatchback sedan, Camry, Sienna and 4Runner-based on Trim Midgrade Limited and wrap all of the interior black leather and its unique exterior Trim including dark chrome lattice, black door handles and black mirrors. This package is available with two or four-wheel drives.

Sequoia competes with a small handful of other truck-based SUVs including the new Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Other rivals include the Nissan fleet, the Ford Expedition, and the Toyota Land Cruiser.
2022 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Trim replaces the available Army Green color paint with a bluish-green option called Lunar Rock. While it may be old, Sequoia still prices competing with rivals.
2022 Toyota Sequoia Platinum started on $67,515, an increase of $120 over the previous year’s model. At this initial price, Sequoia remains competitive with much newer Chevrolet Tahoe and Ford expeditions, as well as the new no-like Nissan fleet.
Opting for four-wheel drive adds $3,225 to each Trim level, except TRD Pro, which comes standard with features. Again, all Sequoias are backed by a naturally aspirated 381-HP 5.7-liter V-8. Do not expect fuel economy stars from the body-on-frame SUV’s: Model 2020 rated only 13/17 mpg city/highway.

In previous reviews, we also criticized Sequoia for its poor steering and ancient interiors. In the comparison test of the big SUV last year, the final place was finished indicating how much the Sequoia needs an update. A bright dot in the Sequoia line is a trim TRD Pro, which is new for the 2021 year model. This version proved to be more off-Road capability compared to other sequoias, boasting Fox shocks on the front and back.
For 2022, the Nightshade Special Edition gives Sequoia a cool new look with black accents on the exterior and interior. Based on Limited, this model has a leather-trimmed seat and will be available in three paint options: Midnight Black Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and Blizzard Pearl.
